About Us

Evil Bitz is written by a small group of people who spend their free time taking apart operating systems, virtual machines, and development environments to see how they actually work. The site grew out of notes passed between a few tinkerers who kept rebuilding the same Linux boxes and Windows VMs and decided their findings were worth writing down properly.

We pick topics from the problems that keep coming up in our own work: a command that behaves differently across distributions, a hypervisor setting that quietly breaks networking, a build tool that needs one extra flag nobody documents. Before anything goes up, we rebuild the setup from scratch in a clean virtual machine or a spare install and walk through every step ourselves, so the guide matches what you will actually see on your screen, not just what worked once.

Evil Bitz participates in the Amazon Associates program and earns from qualifying purchases made through links on the site. Product mentions are limited to hardware and tools we have actually used while testing a guide, and recommendations are revisited as better options come along.

If a command no longer works, a screenshot is out of date, or you think we got something wrong, we would rather hear about it than leave it standing. The contact page is the fastest way to reach the editors directly.
